How did Gwyneth Paltrow lose baby weight?

Summary

When you see women like Gwyneth Paltrow, you have a hard time imagining that they ever were pregnant and gained weight, but the reality is that they did.  In her case, it was twice.

The only reason they manage to confuse people like us is because they work so hard to lose it soon after childbirth.  And since they are not superhuman, they struggle as most of us do.  In an interview, Paltrow confesses that she struggled to lose weight after her second child was born.  “After my first pregnancy, the weight had come off a little bit better but after the second one it was really stubborn. It was really hanging on.  It was not easy and, when I started it, it was by far the hardest thing I have ever done – but I really was seeing results so it motivated me to just work through it.”

Women in their late 30s and older know exactly what she is talking about.  The older we get, the slower the metabolism (and our lifestyles also evolve so that we burn less calories) gets and it becomes harder to lose weight.

How does Gwyneth Paltrow stay fit?

You might recall personal trainer Tracy Anderson who invented the baby food diet and she put her on a workout regimen of 2 hours daily.  Let me tell you that this is a lot of exercise.  I workout 75 minutes daily five days a week, but the difference is that I am not trying to lose weight, just trying to maintain my very low BMI of 19.  Of course, if you recall from the television series Spain On The Road Again, Gwyneth Paltrow is a healthy eater.

There is something else that she said that I liked.  Do you know someone who always has an excuse for not having the time to workout or not being able to afford gym membership.  They are nothing but excuses for not working out.  The reality is that the way you find time to eat or to watch television or to take a shower, you should find time for working out.  Paltrow says, “Every woman can make time – every woman – and you can do it with your baby in the room.  There have been countless times where I’ve worked out with my kids crawling around all over the place. You just make it work, and if it’s important to you, it’ll be important to them.”

Similarly, you can workout right in your home (that is what I do).  My first part includes stretching, flexibility, and weight training exercises and I do it  without any equipment (except for some weights I purchased in a yard sale for a few bucks).  Yes, I do run on a treadmill (that I bought 12 years ago) because with the New England weather it is not possible to always go outside for a run, but you do not need a treadmill to do a cardio.  You can simply jump a rope or try bellydancing or Carmen Electra strip tease workout or just jump like Ted used to do in his bedroom in the movie Bob, Carol, Ted, and Alice.?
