As far as I can recall, John Goodman has always been fat and funny, almost like Drew Carey and Caroline Manzo. Not any more. He has gone through massive weight loss losing as much as 100 lbs by making simple lifestyle changes like giving up alcohol (alcohol has calories, boys and girls, but also when you drink you are not as conscious of calories that you are consuming, mostly through salt and fat rich munchies) and cutting sugar.
As can be expected, he has also started to work out 6 days a week with the help of personal trainer Mackie Shilstone. While I do not personal trainers are mandatory, but like a life coach, they can help you get started and stay motivated.
You can lose weight at any age
There is an even bigger lesson to be learned from Goodman’s story. He is 58 years old. A lot of people complain about their frustrations with losing weight as they get older (indeed as we age, we not only accumulate more weight, it is harder to lose the pounds because the metabolism goes down) but if you are determined and disciplined, eventually Science 101 takes over: if you consume less calories and burn more through exercise, eventually the body will start to burn fat and you WILL lose weight. So stop making excuses.
