What should I do so that a girl will like me?

SummaryFalling in love is an activity that happens naturally and involuntarily and the way you cannot force yourself to love someone you cannot force others either.  That is why the best course of action is to be your true self and let the hearts take their courses.

Picture of a teen screaming for guysRon writes, “I was chatting with this girl online about three years ago and we got on like a house on fire.  We clicked in every way, she is very pretty articulate and a great girl all round.  I was planning to meet her finally and then she left without a trace.  Her work took her overseas but now she is back and she found me again.  We are again talking and getting to know each other as I am single again. This time I met her in person and she is wonderful and just as I pictured her to be.  We have talked about life, love and friendship and understood more about each other as well.  She told she likes me and over time hopefully we move on to something more serious but she told me it may take 1-2 years before she really accepts me for who I am and fall in love with me.  What do I really have to do in this period of time to make sure I keep interested in her and not make any mistakes and have her realize I plan to be there all the way from here on in?

There is no deadline for love

I am a little bit intrigued that she has this arbitrary period in her head of 1-2 years before she will fall in love with you.  Falling in love is something that is very natural and organic and no one really knows how long it can take or if it will even happen.  By putting this time-line in her and your head, she is creating artificial barriers to what is a very unique process for any couple.

That is why — because the time period is so long — my advice would be to just be yourself.  Do nothing that you would not if she were not in the picture.  Obviously, you want to respect her, be nice and romantic to her, but apart from that just enjoy her company.  I am hopeful that once she sees the real you, she may fall in love with a man who is authentic and true.

She’s probably already in a relationship and isn’t available. She’s keeping him on the line in the event she becomes single again. He should still be open to meeting and dating other people in the meanwhile.
