They just want something that they are not getting from their wives.
Biderman says that they don’t just like what happens or does not happen in bed and rather than suffering, they want to do something about it. He argues that these men plan to stay married and that IS the reason for the affair, because they would leave if they could not have an affair.
So is having an affair good for the marriage? Probably, because it allows you to enter a fantasy world that is not possible with your wife. In fact some wives wish their husbands will have an affair to spice up their marriages. And women who have had an affair often report that sex with their husband got better after that.

This article is very stupid! Affairs do not help a marriage and should not be used to help a marriage. if there are problems within the marriage then the couple should try to fix them between eachother as much as possible, If a man can not act out is fantasy with his wife then they both should come to a compromise. going outside the marriage is not a problem fixer and not every man cheats. Bringing someone else in a problem will not fix it but make it worse. if a man wants to play then dont get married.
