When Kristen Stewart slept with married and much older man Rupert Sanders, she was essentially declared as a pariah.  Since then a lot of her tween, teen, and young female friends have turned against her.  In addition to very nasty commentary about her on social media, I have actually come across blogs dedicated to hating her.  It is not the first time a celebrity has cheated but the reaction is very strong because her fans were almost members of a cult in which she was their super-hero and Robert Pattinson was a dream.  That reality now has been demolished by her cheating and Robert comes out as this cutest guy in the world that no woman would ever even speak one bad word to and he has instead been abused and mistreated.  The last time I noticed similar reaction was when Kim Kardashian had a fake wedding and similarly took advantage of Kris Humphreys so that the money and fame hungry Kardashians could get even richer.

Who deserves the most blame? Looks like Kristen is fighting back by telling friends that no one seems to be getting on Sanders’ nerves and she is the only one being blamed for this.  This is what I think.  It is clear that this was a consensual relationship between two grownups.  Yes, he is older than her and a lot of married men who cheat on their wives are very manipulative when it comes to finding younger women, but Kristen is no kid.  She was in a relationship with a wonderful guy and if Rupert had approached her inappropriately, she should have immediately discussed this with her boyfriend or friends/family.  On the contrary, she went ahead and had a secret affair with a married guy.  It was not as if she were married to Pattinson (even then they could have simply divorced if the marriage were not working); they were simply in a relationship, and if she were unhappy in some way and wanted another relationship, she could have either broken up with him or taken a break to date other men, or tried to work on her relationship rather than have a full-blown affair.

Now, obviously because she is better known (I had never heard of Rupert Sanders prior to this scandal and I think compared to Pattinson he is ugly) and more attention will be focussed on her, but she should take heart in the reality that most Americans are very stupid and will forget everything awful about her.  She can go cry on a TV show, talk about in a few magazines, and life will go on.  Look at Kim Kardashian.  She is already on to her next scam with Kanye West and people can’t get enough of her.
