Greg has
fallen in love with a woman who is 18 years older than
him. While he loves her and the
age difference is not an issue for him, his girlfriend
is very uncomfortable about it. "She just can't relax with
me and is very conscious in public. I think she is
insecure in a way and tries to not go all the way.
What kind of advice should I give to her or what should I
do? I love her the way she is and want to even spend the
rest of my life with her," he writes.
Fortunately
I have had many opportunities to also help the women in
these cases. These
mature women cannot comprehend that such relationships
are real. Nobody knows how Demi Moore reacted to advances
from Ashton Kutcher but many women have poorer
body image as they age and are always afraid that the
man would leave her for someone younger - leaving her
heartbroken. |
The
key to your success will be to build an emotional
bond with her and patiently help her
raise her self esteem. Women have lot of
hangups about their age and bodies - they care too
much about things that men don't even think about.
If your genuine love and
commitment is reflected to her in your
behavior, she will see what you mean - that you
are serious, that you love her
inner beauty, and that you would have chosen a
younger woman rather than her if that is what
you wanted.
Like
any relationship this is going to be tough, but if
you do like her, I am positive that she can have
the patience to see her own inner beauty that you
are attracted to. You must also praise her
regularly to
build her confidence and communicate with her
about your feelings. To win a woman's heart,
building trust is important. Once she trusts
you, she will believe everything you say. Until
then, she might consider it just flattery.
