A
new style for men: Metrosexual
It
is not just about looking clean and handsome: it is the change in
attitude that is critical
We
are living in unusual times right now, particularly in
the United States.
The prosperity that we have enjoyed for decades
is now threatened by globalization.
The Internet has truly turned the world into a
global village, basically bringing competition from the
rest of the world right on our doorstep.
Our jobs are being exported overseas, our
industries are in decline, and we just do not live in a
predictable world anymore.
No wonder we need to completely rethink the way
we live our lives, whether it is about relationships, health,
attracting
girls, have a better financial
situation, get better jobs, etc. It is about getting
your “Dream Lifestyle.”

The
first step to get whatever you desire in life is to
change your attitude towards life. What I mean by that
is that you need to think in a more positive
way. It
starts with your attitude towards everything. Once you
have done this, things will get much easier for you.
You see that is really what being a metrosexual is
about, simply to have a great attitude towards life.
That's why you take good care
of yourself.
You understand that before you can do anything,
you need to have a balanced body and mind. That is where
it all starts! If you have a bad diet and your health is
not at 100%, you will always feel too tired to do
anything and you will also find it hard to concentrate
in your job or in anything you want to do.

The
second step is to make some tangible, quantifiable
changes. For
instance, if your weight is not in the range recommended
by doctors, you will need to implement a well-planned
weight loss program.
But weight reduction itself is not enough; you
will also need to build a better physique.
And I say this not only because both these
programs will improve your appearance but also
significantly improve your overall
health.
The
third dimension is grooming.
It should encompass from head to toe.
Whether it is a
hairstyle that should suit your
age/looks/style/personality (do not be embarrassed to
ask your hairdresser for professional advice – if you
do not have a decent stylist, it is worthwhile to get
one) to clothing that matches the
occasion/personality/physique/style all the way to basic
body hygiene (no unwanted hair
anywhere – and yes
there are means to remove hair at home without hurting
yourself, clean and shiny
teeth, and manicured
nails). The
final dimension is spiritual.
In the daily rut of life, do not ever forget or
ignore the spiritual side of your person.
If your spirit is dead or not living at its full
capacity, nothing you have will make you enjoy it – no
matter what luxuries you can afford, if your spirit is
not in great shape you will be miserable.
As Patrick
Chong, the author of Metrosexual Myth tells
me, “So it only takes a few little steps to change
your lifestyle. You need to acquire new habits! If some
things are not going the way you want, then you need to
step back and review some of the things you do in your
life. We all have bad habits; that is just the way we
were conditioned while we were growing up. But
you can change them and there is so much help out
there.”
