How to treat rosacea?

Quadrinone containing products provide relief

We often fail to realize that the largest organ in our body is our skin. While it may not be as delicate as the heart or the brain, whenImage of a very attractive blonde as she shows off her beautiful smile. it comes to how we look, skin can make the greatest difference. In other words, skincare is critical for everyone.

Since the skin is the largest organ, it is also the victim of numerous illnesses. In this article, let me talk about problems like facial redness and flushing due to underlying dermatologic disorders, excessive sun exposure, or persistent itching after mosquito bites. While the simplest things to do to avoid these problems is to keep your skin clean by regular exfoliation, using products such cleansers and moisturizers, and applying sunscreen when exposed to sun for extended periods of time. But problems like facial redness from rosacea is something that still affects millions of people worldwide.

What can be done to treat these skin disorders?

Quadrinone is emerging as a clear winner in the search for a solution to these skin conditions. In a paper entitled "The Efficacy of 1% 4-ethoxybenzaldehyde (Quadrinone) in Reducing Facial Erythema" published in Dermatologic Surgery, author Dr. Zoe Diana Draelos, examined the effects of Cutanix (a product containing quadrinone) in a pilot study of 30 people with mild to moderate facial rosacea. Twenty of the study subjects were randomly selected to receive the Cutanix topical lotion, which they applied to their face twice daily, while the other 10 subjects in the control group only received the lotion vehicle - without Quadrinone.

When determining the effectiveness of the Cutanix lotion in reducing symptoms over four weeks, Dr. Draelos and her research team reported "that there was a statistically significant improvement in erythema (facial redness), uneven skin tone, desquamation (peeling) and overall severity of rosacea."  Further, researchers reported that application of the topical Cutanix formulation caused an apparent reduction in facial lesions related to rosacea.

Additional clinical experience has shown Cutanix is also effective in reducing redness due to other conditions and on other parts of the body. The product has been shown to relieve inflammation, stinging, itching and scaling and other symptoms associated with sunburn and insect bites.
