|
To address the concerns of the aging neck and décolleté area, salons and spas offer professional neck and décolleté treatments in conjunction with all
facial treatments. They can be separate treatments or add-on services to facials. Neck and décolleté spa treatments also are very suitable as regenerative treatments following a
microdermabrasion peel.
Some Treatments
There are many different formulations available in the skin care industry that contain new innovative product releases that will help to delay the aging process, ensure proper cell division, and regeneration of the skin. Such formulations may contain Retinol to stimulate the skin’s cell turn over, anti-oxidants Vitamin A, E, and C to reduce dryness and
hyperpigmentations or Beech extract which increase the production of keratinocytes and the cell oxygen level. Also
ceramide-containing products present an effective buffer against moisture loss and restore the skin’s natural radiance and firmness. |
Product Applications Ideas
Anti-aging ampoules: Ampoules or serums provide an excellent quick fix for the tired and sun stressed skin on the neck and décolleté. Individually packaged, such ampoules provide a hygienic application and allow the aesthetician to customize the treatment for each client. Ampoules should have
anti-aging and hydrating ingredients such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and collagen which will help to enhance the skin’s ability to retain moisture, produce collagen and will contribute to firmer, younger looking skin.
Warm vitamin wrap: Warm one ounce of a skin caring plant oil such as
wheat germ oil or evening primrose oil in a small bowl in a microwave oven and dip a piece of gauze (big enough to cover neck and décolleté) into the warm oil and apply it on the treated area. To keep it warm cover it with cellophane or foil and then with a warm light-weight towel. If the customer has a thyroid condition do not cover the neck with the warm towel. Remove and wash off any excess after ten minutes or massage it into the skin. The same procedure can be done with a regenerative cream mask with nourishing properties from carotin oil or aloe vera instead of an oil.

Firming and moisture balancing masks: To add firmness and restore moisture loss, choose a mask that has an occlusive effect, allowing products previously applied to penetrate deeper into the skin such as a mineral-rich, soft rubber-like specialty mask, or a self-heating thermal mask which produces a gentle heat, or a
paraffin application.
To reduce dehydration lines an application of a gel mask will help to increase the skin’s moisture level and visibly improve its texture. Such masks can be massaged into the skin and do not need to be rinsed of.
Revitalizing and firming moisturizer: It is also very important that the epidermis is adequately hydrated and protected against harmful environmental influences. A specially designed moisturizer for the neck and décolleté usually consist of a lightly textured consistency and contains more stimulating active ingredients compared to the face creams such as pepper extract, oxygen or wheat extract will help to strengthening the skin’s tissue, and leaving the skin feeling smooth and supple. Also product formulations containing ceramides increase cell cohesion, this increases
turgor, resulting in firmer skin.
