How to get beautiful skin?

Take care of it and here is how...

Great skin is a gift. Most of the skin characteristics are genetic, but this does not mean that the environment does not have an influence on the skin nor does it mean that if a person is not born with flawless skin, she cannot improve it. Good skin starts with good health. Healthy nutrition shows on your skin. Stress and sadness are beauty killers too. The old saying that, “Beauty is from within” is true.  (Related:  Skin treatments)

Clean, moisturize, and protect:   These are the basics of any beauty routine. Use a gentle cleanser even if your skin is oily. You do not need to dry out your skin. The moisturizer has to be for your skin type. The most important thing is to always use it at least once a day depending on the place you live and your skin type. Use sun protection all the time, something like Anthelios-SX.  Dermatologists recommend using it even during winter and on cloudy days – the damaging radiation is always there.  (Related:  What do you need for essential skincare)

You can use traditional exfoliation products, do a home mask, or use the new systems such as peelings with glycolic acid or microdermabrasion. Exfoliation will also help make your skin healthier. If your skin is perfect, still you need exfoliation at least once a week. A simple and effective exfoliation is a mask of oatmeal, yogurt and a few drops of honey. Leave it for 10 minutes on your skin, rinse it off and you will see and feel the difference. If you have a skin condition such as acne or rosacea, treat it after consulting a dermatologist, but also do your own research first. Some health insurance programs do not cover these expenses and the prescription versions of some medications are more expensive. If you insurance does not cover this and you cannot afford to pay, it is worthwhile to do your own research to assess how bad your condition is and if you can be treated by over-the-counter medicines or you need to see a skin doctor.

Dark spots:  Dark spots or hyperpigmentation are a common problem especially among women with darker skin tones. It is very important to use sun protection every day to avoid more and while treating existing ones. There are many treatments all the way from over-the-counter creams to laser.  (Related:  Superficial ablative resurfacing)
