Injectable fillers
Botox to remove wrinkles and expression lines
|
We
have been discussing injectable
fillers. Now we will spend some time on
talking about Botox and what it can do for your
skin. Botox has been around for a long time. It is a toxin that has been used for years for medicinal purposes. It was accidentally discovered in Canada to
treat wrinkles and expression lines. Small doses of Botox are introduced into targeted areas, therefore, preventing the muscle from contracting, and thus,
reducing wrinkles. (Related:
Botox addiction)
This is the first treatment we have available and still the best known and most widely used to paralyze the muscle and make our skin look tight in some areas. Although it is considered safe, there are no studies of the
long-term effects of
Botox. |

It will make some wrinkles and expression lines disappear with one shot. Botox has a temporary effect. The treatment needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 months. There is no down time when you Botox. The full effect of Botox shots will take place a couple of days after the application and can take even a week.

Some people say that Botox works so well that they get “hooked” after the first application. Almost all Hollywood actresses are reportedly using Botox. Even
young people in theirs 20s now use Botox, particularly if they need to look perfect. That is why in cities like Los Angeles and New York, use of Botox is widespread.
Actually, doctors say that a woman in her 30s might only
need Botox, and maybe
dermal
fillers. As you age, you might need to combine it with a
chemical peel, and later on you might need a
face lift.
Botox works best in the forehead, around the eyes, and around the mouth, but it is used in many other places too.
The cost varies by the region in which it is applied and the cost ranges from $250 to $600 per treated area.
It is also used to treat excessive sweating in the
armpits.

| The Botox look?
There is now a new term “the Botox look,” meaning someone with so much Botox on their faces that they do not have any expression and cannot even talk normally.

Browlift)
What can go wrong with Botox?
Fortunately there are not many risks if you go to an experienced and capable doctor. The most common problem is that some Botox moves or was applied on the wrong place. This may cause paralysis in the eyelid (if applied in the eyes region). Since Botox has only temporary effect, it goes away, but you have to deal with the situation for a few months.
