Foundation for sensitive, combination skin
How to pick the right product?

Michaela, a 37-year old Englishwoman, writes, "I have sensitive combination skin and have a few thread veins on my cheek. I have tried a lot of foundations in the past and find they either emphasize the dry parts of my skin or they make the oily areas worse.  I would appreciate any advice you can give me."

Combination skin is always a challenge. The sensitive areas of your skin are the ones that determine the type of skin care products that are best for you. Preferably everything you use should be for sensitive skin. Lately the cosmetic lines have realized that adult women also have acne and they have created products that help oily skin but do not irritate delicate skin. You may want to try them. If your skin is dry, this will reflect when you put on foundation.   (Related article:  How to take care of sensitive skin?)

Your skin has to be hydrated and exfoliated so it looks better after applying foundation. The type of foundation should be light, probably liquid. Based on the feedback from MYNIPPON readers, Mac's foundations are among the best but most other lines have good foundation too. Foundation is a product where it is better to spend the money and get one of high quality and the correct color to match your skin. So, while relatively less expensive, discount/pharmacy store foundations are not the best choice.
