Skin cleansing and detox are used to eliminate toxins from the skin and to stimulate circulation. This will heal your body to have a more healthy looking skin. It is specially recommended for people with skin conditions such as allergies,
acne and similar illness.
How to do it at home?
There are many ways to help your skin eliminate toxins:
hydrotherapy,
aromatherapy, skin dry brushing, steam and sauna and contrast cold-hot showers or plunges.
As in the case of other detox programs, you should eat a healthy diet and
avoid processed foods and sugars. Drink plenty of water and
relax.
You may add a cup of hot water with lemon to your diet. Drink it first thing in the morning. This will help your body balance the pH. The duration of the programs can vary from a few days to a month.
One of the easiest and most effective ways to detox the skin is dry brushing.
Another easy way is to take contrast shower: cold/warm water and alternate between the temperatures to increase circulation. Finish with warm water. At spas this is done with the cold- hot plunges. They have pools with water at different temperatures and people switch between them. You may take a couple of minutes in hot water and shorter time in cold water and alternate 3 times. You can do these treatment three or four times a week.
| Sauna and steam:
Few people have them at home. If you have access to them at a gym or a hotel, you may want to take advantage of them. They are also very relaxing. If you have visible broken capillaries on your face, do not do these treatments. Consult your doctor if you have high blood pressure or any other condition or if you are taking medicines.
If you are using the sauna as detox, follow a three to four week plan eating a healthy diet and visiting the sauna two to three times a week. The time required at the sauna varies for each individual. Generally speaking, you may start with 10 to 20 minutes and follow the guidelines of the place. If you do not feel comfortable, get out of the sauna.

What will I need?
You can use a brush with soft bristles, a loofah sponge or a silk mitten.
That’s it. Time required is about 5 to 10 minutes.
At bath time it works much better but you can do it any time. You can do it twice a day emphasizing the
areas with
cellulite. |
