with someone
Chances
of losing weight are much higher
Since we wrote our
article
on how people lack motivation and commitment when they need to work out,
we heard from dozens of people with suggestions and tips on what can be
done. We had emphasized the value of discipline in working out
regularly and eating right; otherwise, you will not achieve your goal or
even if you do, you might gain it back.

What we learned from all
of you is that this problem affects so many people that something has to
be done about it. Most people have realized that it is best to
have a workout partner and to hold yourself accountable to her or
him. That way you know that if you do not meet your target, you
will be embarrassed in front of your partner. Most of you said
that it was a bad idea to have a family member as a partner because the
complex relationship it is hard to speak honestly. For instance, a
spouse will never be able to say things that a friend can say. A
daughter will have a difficult time stopping her mother from not

But what happens if you
cannot find someone easily. For these people I have been told
about programs run by many online
diet websites. Now as you might know, BeachBody has one of the best
community of people who are serious about losing weight, working out,
and becoming fit. The members share stories, talk about what is
working and what is not working, display their photos as the body
changes, and support each other. Believe it or not some of the
members started to make virtual friends in the community and that led to
coordinated workout routines. It was just so exciting to know that
someone else was working out at the same time as you were. And

At the time of writing
this article, WOWY has approximately 2,000 members. That means
that no matter which activity you are following, you will have plenty of
company. In so many other things that I have done in life, I have
realized that there is no better way to improve performance than by
joining a group in which everyone supports you and you do the

When you join a WOWY,
here a few things to watch out for:

- Just because your partner(s) is not with you
physically, you should not feel that you can cheat. That would
be unethical.
- If you have a 'real' workout partner, well that is
great. Nothing like it. But it is still a great idea to
join a community like WOWY because you will always have someone in
case your real partner is busy or is traveling or does not feel like
working out at the same time as you.
- If you do not have a 'real' workout partner then
WOWY seems like an obvious choice. But keep looking for a
'real' partner.
- Like any other community, give back at least as
much as you receive. What makes an online community work is
that each member is committed to the community and does his or her
best.
