On a recent episode of POWER OF 10, I learned that one out of three men will not marry a woman who has a child(ren) with another man. While it is understandable why these men feel this way, but it is also a problem — you may be eliminating great women from your potential list of partners.

It is a fact of life that one out of two marriages end up in a divorce. Plus, there is no longer a taboo to have children out of wedlock. In other words, perfectly wonderful moms will end up single, not always looking for a father to their child, but a man that they can love again.

I have also found that just because a woman has no children does not make her a better wife or mother of your child. On the contrary, a mother to someone else’s child might turn out to be a better mom to your child.
