My husband is missing
Michelle writes, “I’ve been with my partner for almost one year, my first relationship after being divorced for 10 years. We were very happy together, met each other’s families, went on holiday together, enjoyed life, but now all of a sudden I don’t know where he’s gone. His business is closed and he’s not at home,his phone is switched off. I’m confused, worried and scared. Who shall I ask? It’s been three days already. Please advise me.”
First of all, you have to make sure that he is not victim of a crime. Since you have met his family, it will be appropriate to call them and find out if they know where he is and if he is OK. If not, then in consultation with them, you should contact the police (Related: What to do if a child is missing).
Another possibility is that maybe due to some problems he lost his business and something went wrong with his phone number too or he deliberately canceled that phone number so he could avoid calls from business partners. If your vendors want money from you, the last thing you want to do is to answer the phone.
If he is alright but just does not want to contact you, then, he simply wants to end the relationship but does not have the guts to do so in person. It is very weird behavior but some men are like that. They hope that if they disappear things will change.
