How to talk to my shy boyfriend?
Stacy writes, “I have met this great guy who I really like so much but whenever we are together we don’t talk so much. We are at times too quiet and I don’t like it because I wish we talk more and not feel this tension between us. Please tell me some ideas what can we talk about without looking stupid or what am talking is making sense.”
Well, there are various types of people and some are quieter than others. Many people do not talk all that much — if it is the personality there is nothing to worry about (if possible, try to find out from his friends and family members if he is a quiet person and is a good listener rather than a talkative person). If he is quiet with you alone, he may also be shy and getting used to being around you. It takes time before people really open up to a new person in their life.
So be patient. It is always good to ask questions to get the conversation started. No I am not suggesting that you ask too many questions about him — it should not look like a job interview. It is much more fun and better to talk about general things. For example, if he enjoyed watching a movie you can ask his opinion about a character or ask he was the director what change he will make in the movie or what did he think of the stunts in the movie.
