Can I wear animal prints?

Martha writes,” I am building a new wardrobe (I was never a stylish girl but after a style makeover with the help of a friend, I am completely changing the way I dress) and I am interesting in adding a few animal print pieces to my closet. Are these only for middle-aged women? Will I look cheap if I wear these? What do you think?”
Animal print fashion has been around for a long time and it is not just for women in the countryside. Julianne Moore actually wore animal print panties for a magazine cover.
In any case, any time you make a major transformation in your wardrobe, the best thing is to do it gradually (spread it out over a few weeks or months, for instance) and start giving hints of what is to come. Since any time of leopard/zebra/snake/tiger print is rather bold, I would not suggest a shirt right away, but you can wear an animal print headband or belt or a handbag, but you can always leopard print lingerie right away since either you or only a special someone will see. You can also wear leopard print bras and like Mandy Moore let your bra peek a bit so that people know what is going on but you don’t stand out. Within a very short time you should be able to wear a leopard print dress like Diablo Cody to the red carpet.
