What is beautiful?
Belisi, a luxury designer of high-end silk ties, scarves, and women’s handbags, that I had mentioned previously in the context of divas, is now conducting some research to find out what is beautiful. “Many things are beautiful — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and hope are all beautiful,” says creative director Peter Belisi. “We want to give our customers an opportunity to share their ideas of beauty.”
Before you go and tell Peter what you find beautiful, listen to me please: What is beautiful to me is the thought for any action. Let me explain. For example, if you gift diamonds to me but in your heart, you regret the money spent, you wonder what you will get in return from me, and then bitch about me if we are no longer friends. That is not beautiful. On the other hand, you buy me a $5 Tee, and think of me as someone you love and will do anything to make me feel better – now that is “really beautiful.”
