How do I win being a nice guy?
Steve asks, “Why do nice guys finish last? This happens to me all the time. Do I have to be mean and nasty to keep her? Maybe you can help me out!”
You are indeed raising a very profound question and the answer is not so simple since what you do will depend on what your values are. Your values are important because if you do something and feel guilty about it, then you have not truly achieved what you wanted – even though you won.
Having said that, it is not true that only mean and nasty people win. Of course, nice guys sometimes do finish last and mean people do go ahead but based on little that we know, nice guys do win and when they do they win big time. Specifically talking about women, when nice guys win, they get the good women – not jerks who just want a shallow person.
So what would I suggest you do? Do what you are comfortable with. Being shy is not being a nice guy and being aggressive is not being mean. So if you are shy or not doing the right things, then fix these problems first. Then just be yourself. The right girl will appreciate who you are and you will eventually win.
