My boyfriend cheats but says he loves me
Leslie writes, “My boyfriend of four and half years is cheating on me. Every time I say that I am going to leave him, he comes after me and says that he loves me and begs me to take him back. Doe he really love me?”
Why would a man love you and then go with other women? That does not sound right. I think he has given you enough reason to dump him and move on with someone who truly believes in monogamy.
Now having said that, nothing in life is so black and white. For instance, he may love you for being a wonderful woman, but if he does not like sex with you, chances are that he goes and has sex with other women. In that case, he may still love you but decides to have sex with someone else to satisfy himself. Or maybe he needs you for money but does not really love you. He just tells you that so that you will keep giving him money.
