Sarah Palin affair

For reasons that do not make sense, Americans tend to revere their presidents and politicians. They expect them to be perfect when they themselves are not.
American marriages end up half the time in divorce and almost three out of four people are bedding someone that is not their spouse or partner.
The Republicans, the so-called values party with a huge base of evangelical Christians, do talk more about virgins at the time of wedding and no pregnant teens but in reality they are as bad as the always criticized "liberals."
And that is why it is ironical that they are so excited about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. She is not only in favor of abstinence only message but opposes abortion in all cases, and is therefore, raising a teenager daughter who is now going to be mom herself. And of course, apart from having all the corruption qualities that politicians have (particularly those in Alaska) she is married to an alcoholic husband whom she married when he had already impregnanted her. They also did not have your traditional church wedding because they eloped -- not the most Christian thing to do.
That is why it is not shocking that Governor Palin also had an extramarital affair (accusations have also been made against Senator John McCain for having an affair with Vicki Iseman, a lobbyist, and of course, with his current wife Cindy McCain whom he dated while still married, to his previous wife), according to National Enquirer magazine. I think the only good news in all of this is that the Republicans are now realizing how hollow their platform is and how it makes sense to simply embrace the reality of life.
