Earlier I wrote how models look good on television. The point I was trying to make was that you should never compare yourself against models and celebrities as shown in magazines or movies because with perfect light, great makeup, and PhotoShop even a mediocre looking person can look stunning. Unfortunately, what sells magazines and movies are perfectly looking people even though we all know that they are fake.

But what about politicians? They are not competing in a beauty pageant. Apparently, a beauty pageant loser is now the Republican vice presidential candidate and rather than talk about her skills as a leader (apparently there are none), the McCain campaign wants her to just look good. That is why they are blasting NewsWeek magazine for showing Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in her natural form and not airbrushing her face.

I don't see the problem. While I am scared to imagine her as the vice president, she sure looks just fine for her age.
