Fondue parties are a lot of fun or you can have a fondue
for two. Here is a recipe for fondue
with an Oriental flavor. Serves
6-8 people. Other recipes are cheese
fondue, Mexican
fondue, and chocolate
fondue.
Ingredients

1/2 pound shredded Gruyere
1/2 pound shredded Emmenthal
1 large clove garlic, split in half
1 small peace of ginger root (eliminate the skin)
1 tablespoon of butter
1 1/2 cups of dry white wine
1 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms
1 minced shallot
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 sprig of fresh thyme or cilantro
Salt and black pepper
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, rub the inside with the garlic clove first and after that with the gingerroot. Put pan to medium temperature.
- Add butter to stir fry mushrooms and shallot.
- Add the wine. Simmer.
- Mix cheese and flour in a separate bowl.
- Add cheese to wine. When cheese is melted add salt, pepper and herbs to taste.

Bread sticks
Vegetables: You may stir-fry or blanch zucchinis, mushrooms, peppers, raw celery, and baby carrots. Add any other vegetables that you may like.
Meats: Stir-fry scallops or any other cooked meat.
