fondue recipe
Queso fundido con Chile
Summary:
Fondue parties are a lot of fun or you can have a fondue
for two. Here is a recipe for Mexican
style fondue. Other recipes are cheese
fondue, Asian
flavor fondue, and chocolate
fondue.
Ingredients
1/2 pound mozzarella cheese, grated or cubed
1/2 pound Monterey Jack, grated or cubed
1/2 pound white American cheese grated or cubed
1 cup of dry wine (Which
wine should I buy?)
1/4 cup onion
2 poblano peppers roasted and peeled cut in small pieces
2 tablespoons of jalapenos
1 garlic clove
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and black pepper
Optional ¼ pound of cooked chorizo (Mexican sausage) or bacon
Instructions
- Rub garlic in a heavy pan. Add wine and simmer.
- Add cheeses.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer to a fondue pot.
Fondue garnishes
You may use any combination of the following:
Tortilla chips
Toasted tortillas
Blue corn tortillas
You may want to add some refried beans. Put beans over a chip and add cheese melt on top (with a spoon).
