Platanos en tentación
Recipe for plantains

Summary:  Platanos en tentación roughly translates as plantains that are simply too tempting.  So here is a simple recipe based on how it is cooked in Latin and South America for you to serve as a dessert.

  Ingredients

2 teaspoon of butter
1 cup of sugar
8 tablespoons of water
5 tablespoons of white vine (Which wine should I buy?)
4 ripe plantain bananas
1 cinnamon stick
Powdered cinnamon to decorate

Dissolve the sugar in the wine.

Put the butter, wine and sugar and cinnamon stick in a pan at medium-high temperature. Wait until it boils.

Peel and cut the plantain bananas. Cut in small rounds.

Add to the pan. Cook for about 25 minutes or until the bananas are ready (soft).

You may serve decorated with the cinnamon powder and ice cream on top. You may also add a small shot of tequila or rum.
