Japanese style spring party
Celebrate the arrival of spring
|
|
|
Spring is a
great time in almost all the cold countries, but in Japan,
spring is an especially happy time. Since the country
emerges from months of cold weather and the flowers bloom,
it is the time for what Japanese call as
Hanami – literally translated as “viewing the
flowers.” These trees provide a spectacular view and
nature-loving Japanese rush to admire them. The
Sakura is a symbol of the spring - a time of renewal
and an occasion to celebrate good weather. You may not
live in Japan, and or you may not
visit Washington DC
(another great destination for
viewing cherry blossoms when they celebrate the
National Cherry Blossom Festival - 3,000 trees were gifted
by Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo in 1912) to see the flowers,
but you can all still have a Sakura party. Here is how to
do it: (Related:

Decoration
You can
purchase cherry flowers almost anywhere (online,
supermarket, flower-shop, etc.). If you cannot find them,
you can use any other small pink flowers and get inspired
by the Japanese flower arrangements. If you are having
kid’s party, you can make them out of branches and paper;
they still look good.
