Short,
sweet, and memorable relationship
These
are the ones that stay in mind forever
By Alejandro Burrado
I lack much experience
with romantic relationships, but I had the unexpected opportunity recently to meet a Japanese girl,
Natsuko. She is my roommate's friend and came to visit him for the first time in America. My roommate is a Japanese
student in the US who is already in college and a lot older than
I am. I never imagined that I would meet a Japanese girl since
in Mexico you don't see Japanese very often (I never met one
until I moved to the US).

When I met her I was
cooking and in the brief moments I
stepped up to talk to her; the food caught fire: there was a lot of
smoke and a very bad smell. She got scared and totally freaked
out. So as you can see, the first day in our house was not what
we expected it to be and thus began my rather dramatic introduction to this beautiful girl.
I never had the chance to really have a conversation with her until the third day in our house. My roommate went out with
his girlfriend and he left me in charge of her. She needed to do
the laundry. I used the opportunity to really get to know her since I always wanted to meet a girl, who had no exposure to
American life or language. She had an extremely small English vocabulary so I had to help her out. Even though we
barley understood each other we had about two hours of conversation; she seemed surprised that I was extremely polite
and personal (more physical contact that in Latin cultures is viewed as normal) since in Mexico that was the way I was
raised. (Related:

After a wile I asked her if she wanted to play
racquetball (she had never played this game before); she accepted enthusiastically and was very excited. After that we
went to the pool to rest and ended up giving massages to each
other. Then I had the chance to talk to her about four more
times, each time lasting about half an hour. In those periods of
time I had the chance to notice her
beautiful smile, her expressive eyes, and her delicate face in detail.

The day she was going to leave, I had the chance to talk to my
roommate alone. He told me that she liked me (which I already expected: every time I saw her she would look and smile at me
in a different way than she looked at anyone else), but he also
said I did not had a chance since she is very beautiful and four
years older than me (even though she looked younger - just about my age). He said that while she liked me, it was unlikely
that it will go beyond that due to the fact that she was leaving
soon and I was so young. (Related article: Mature

My roommate left again and he was later on planning to take
her to the airport in five hours. So I helped her pack. When we
finished I headed to the door as I was going to leave the room
but she came and stood in front of me. Without realizing what I was doing, I held her waist and told her that I was going to
miss her. Then I came closer to her face as if I was going to kiss her
(which I was) but she stopped me and said, "No kiss,
no kiss". I hugged her closer and started sliding my hands down and unsuccessfully I tried to kiss her again. Then I slid
my hand to her blouse and looked at her to see if she was getting angry but instead she gave me that look she did those
other times. Then we went to the living room couch and started
kissing each other except for the lips. She did not gave me the
chance to kiss her on the lips until a while later. We got as far
as we could without doing the ultimate. In the end she took me to her room and kissed some more but
she only let me kiss her on the lips three more times. I asked
her why and she looked at an English/Japanese dictionary, and the word she showed me was embarrassed. She gave me an
impression that that was what she felt. I was very confused about that and I didn't know if it is my fault. She left two hours
later. |
