Vivien
writes, "I have been married for 3 years now and I have
two kids. I noticed that
after having kids my
vagina became so dry and no amount of
foreplay could
make me wet, as it used to be, and
I really don't feel like having sex because of that.
I feel like
lovemaking has become a chore for me because I just
lie there while my husband does all the work. Also the
spots that used to
trigger my orgasms don't do again. I really don't
know what to do. I am getting frustrated though my
husband hasn't complained yet."
Reasons for vaginal dryness
Vaginal dryness is a very common problem among
older women and those going through
menopause. It is normal as
women age,
particularly when they
hit 40 or so, but it can happen sooner due to
hormonal changes. As you are finding out, it can not
only
make sex less pleasurable, it can actually make it
very painful for women and men. I am a little bit
surprised that your husband has not complained because
in general
men find that sex gives them less pleasure inside a dry
vagina and it is difficult to
penetrate or move. Maybe he is just a
nice man who knows about it but realizes that it is
just natural and does not want to bother you even more
by mentioning it.
Personal lubricants are a simple
solution
The simplest thing that you can do is to use some form
of
lubrication. Using a lubricated condom is helpful
and if you do not use a condom then you can use a jelly
or what is called a personal lubricant (like K-Y Jelly)
that is sold in any drugstore or supermarket. I will
expect that after you apply the jelly he will be able to
move himself more comfortably inside you and that will
once again stimulate your inner parts producing an
orgasm.
You may also want to speak to gynecologist so that she
can test your hormones and check out if everything else
is normal. |
