Birthday party planning
This past Saturday, we had the first of two birthday parties for Zadey’s 2nd birthday. It was small, only the family from Bakersfield around and perfect. Nothing was over done, not too many presents, cake that was wonderful, and a lot of family around.
What I cannot believe is that we’re facing 2! Her official birthday is Tuesday the 18th. And with each passing day she’s becoming more and more of a big girl and less and less of a baby.
She’s having conversations with us, clearly stating what she does and doesn’t want. She’s saying Hi to people by name and realizing that ‘Uncle’ isn’t just Uncle Steve; she’s got 3 of them!
In anticipation of tantrums, they’re not yet as bad as I thought they were going to be. Instead, she screams over the house shouting.
When she doesn’t get what she wants she thinks that she can woo her way into it by giving you hugs and kisses and batting eye lashes. It doesn’t quite work that way but the extra attention is nice.
Recently, she’s developed a HUGE obsession with Mickey Mouse. Only wanting to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on TV and begs for you to put in her Mickey Mouse DVD. Her favorite toy? Her stuffed Mickey and Minnie Mouse, of course!
This coming Saturday, the 15th we’ll be holding a second birthday party for her at my parent’s house down south where my Dad’s side of the family will be attending and Joanne’s parents. All in celebration of my Z.
