My life as a mommy blogger

My business partner, Mindy and I have been running several different work at home websites for a couple of years now. Each year though, we seem to increase our responsibilities, expand our ideas or move into different areas.

When I look into my wannabe crystal ball to tell the future, I see for myself blogging. This being strange because sometimes, I just don’t have the words. I’m not really one to head out and do research on a topic or dig to find something to blog about it.

I think about it or I run into it and it’ll make it to a blog post, somewhere.

Yet, I still believe that this is where I’m going because this is where my interest lies. Even if I am headed to digging through search engines to find a topic to fit on a blog. And even though the posts are sometimes few and far between it’s because I’m finding my niche here.

Until this point, every post has been about my daughter. And while I find her to be one very interesting creature and depending on the day and her pretending mood, a great puppy as well, she’s not all I want to share.

In fact, at one point I thought about discontinuing the idea of this blog because I have a strong sense of my daughter being my own. Perhaps I’m a little over protective. Or as an adoptive Mom, I just didn’t want to have to share the information for the birth-family to find and read.

What I’m seeing now is that idea of this blog: It is something that we, as Moms all do.

Each of us take the time to hang out with our kids, go for a trip to the park, go to school, volunteer for some dreadful activity we don’t want to do, and sit to cuddle. It’s our job as a Mom and one job that I for one enjoy the most.

But we’re also the live in maids and housekeepers. We dig for that one sock that the dryer always seems to eat, we catch the cobwebs in corners we never knew existed, and nightly take part in the water fight that’s become widely known as bath time.

And some, for those who really enjoy it, end it all by a blog post. At least, I do and thus why this name is so fitting.

But being Zadey’s Mommy is not all that I am.

In fact, there’s more to me than playing with my child, digging in the dirt. There’s more than the girl that gets on her hands and knees to mop the floor because it’s the only way I know how to ensure she’s not going to find something to eat off of it and I’m more than the words on my various blogs.

So, I’m going to expand this blog further into the Mommy world. Maybe I’ll find a few more Mom friends online which I cannot say would hurt.

No, the days of posts and pictures of my girl is not gone. Nor are the posts about wanting another child or being torn between the pain of adopting other children.

But it can go further than this and I plan to take it there.

So, here’s to digging through Google and praying there’s some good interesting news out there that I find to be most fitting for my family and parenting blog.

It may be my life but it’s not all that I am.
