Catching Up On Life

It’s interesting that as soon as my mind switches off the part of me that blogs about personal life, I’m asking how come I’m not blogging about myself anymore.

The truth is because my life gets few responses, even from my family members that I felt as though no one really gave a damn. Possibly myself included.

When I first started blogging, it was all about me. Drama in my life, dealing with Zadey’s birth-Mother, expressing feelings over my oh-so-freakin-cute kid and just living life.

In reality I have come to realize that my life isn’t much more but the constant work and reading I’m doing on the computer and raising Zadey. She’s cute, she’s fun, she’s fascinating but she’s not really good material for blog posts.

So, I’ll keep this going, because I was asked.

And if you feel so inclined, please comment if you care to hear more.

Here’s a catch up from the last time I blogged here.

We moved into our permanent housing here in Las Vegas. Oddly enough, my brother Doug also moved in with us coming from California.

It was a real pain to have to go to California to grab our stuff from storage but the fact that my brother drove our U-Haul truck and unloaded the entire thing by himself before we reached our apartment was really nice.

Seriously, with having half the move done already with everything packed in boxes and placed in storage the worst part was over. But the next worst part was better served when I was required to do nothing.

Sure, I unpacked a few boxes but my (brand new) sister-in-law was helpful with doing that as well. Joanne pitched in a lot while I cracked down on work that I had missed on for 4 days during the move.

Then Doug, who’s living with me (as mentioned above) marries his girlfriend in a true Las Vegas style rushed wedding. So on December 11th I got myself a new sister-in-law.

Having only met her 2 days prior to the wedding, I’m impressed. I like her very much, she’s great with Zadey and Z really loves her as well.

They’re still living with us as they’ve decided to settle into life together here in Las Vegas. At least for the short term. Doug got himself a job and will soon be working at Home Depot.

When income tax and the first paycheck rolls in they’ll be getting an apartment here in my complex.

It’s surprisingly easy to live with them. My only complaint is that Joanne and I are sharing a room with Zadey and we have no place to unpack her boxes to. Otherwise, it’s fine. I am however ready after a month to have Zadey in her own room and our of ours.

This past week, I purchased a new blog domain name where I plan on blogging about such fun things as search engine optimization, how to setup your blog better, social networking, tutorials for WordPress, and much more.

Basically it’ll be a Blogging 101 blog with various tips, tricks, and opinions from yours truly.

Zadey, wow, she hates Santa Claus this year. And Joanne and I have made the official decision that we’re not going to teach her that Santa is anything real. No, sorry, some fake dude isn’t getting the credit for presents that we’ve purchased. Not to mention, I do have a bit of that lie issue.

Instead she’ll be taught that he’s the character of the season and not to spoil the surprise for other kids when they find out that he’s not real (and parents break the hearts of their children by letting them know).

Christmas was really great and we’ve officially marked this as Zadey’s first boy Christmas. Her gifts included a dump truck, a Cars sleeping bag, some DVDs, and Woody. We won’t and don’t overdo Christmas. I’m not setting a standard for getting everything you want for Christmas. Some things are just better left as rewards for a child that’s deserving and has worked to get what they want.

Mindy and I sold several sites under our control. Most sites were ones that I maintained so I have now become the official company scatter brain bouncing from one job to another to accomplish a lot of the behind-the-scenes things that we need fixing up.

With luck, shortly after the New Year, we’ll be opening a new work at home Mom website. We’ll see how that works out for us in terms of return profits.

Joanne and I celebrated 6 years together on December 13th. I can hardly believe it’s been that long and I have to say, I love her just as much today as I did the day I realized I had fallen in love.

Wow, she’s amazing.

We’re looking at an April promotion for her which I have to admit I’m not holding my breath for. There have been way too many promises of this promotion to even bother getting my hopes up. I figure, if it happens it’ll be a nice surprise and something with celebrating as she couldn’t be more deserving for this.

Along the lines of work accomplishments, Joanne also celebrated her 12 year anniversary working for Target. Really 12 years, you’d think they would promote the girl by now but whatever they want to pay the overtime and there’s nothing to complain about.

There you have it, a month or more in wrap up!
