Looking good
is not just about having a
great body – you also have to
dress right. And I don’t just mean to say that you can
achieve a great look if you wear
designer clothes. You need to also have your very own
personal style. And to achieve all of that you will
need a good wardrobe. It is not the number of items in
your wardrobe that counts – it is what you have that
really matters. So below are all the essentials that a
woman needs to have in her wardrobe:

White shirt. A
well tailored, simple white shirt can be used to dress up
with a business suit, upgrade the look of a
simple skirt,
and be used with
jeans
for a sophisticated, but casual look. Because it is
simple, you can add on accessories such as
scarves and
necklaces. Indeed, what appears to be a
simple item of
clothing can actually be very versatile. And since quality
matters, buy a

Black pants. Like the white shirt, they can
be used for both formal job meetings as well as parties
and you will always look sophisticated in them. They can
be used to both dress up and dress down, depending on how
you coordinate them. In fact, you can easily switch from
daywear to
evening wear by merely changing what you wear

 The cocktail dress. It can be that little
black dress invented by
Coco Chanel or a neutral color of your preference. Why
neutral or black? Because it is versatile, and by just
changing the accessories,
shoes and
handbag, you can
change the look without much effort. And here is
another secret. If you can only afford one cocktail dress,
choose black. That way you can wear it over and over again
by coordinating with accessories and nobody would ever
know how many you have. Check out department stores like
Macy’s and
Neiman Marcus.
Coat and/or
trench coat or
raincoat. What you choose will depend
on the place you live, but unless you live in
paradise, you will need one or both. Your
coat
will be the first thing people may see. They also
tend to last for years so it is a good idea to buy
a quality product. Your safest bet is to buy
Burberry. Some very cool and inexpensive
options are also available at H&M,
Zara, and
Mexx.
Pump shoes. They should be high
quality and comfortable. Buy a
high-heel if you
like. Zappos has the biggest selection.

Handbag. Good quality is important
but it does not necessarily have to be branded.
While having a branded bag from
Louis Vuitton,
Prada,
Coach, or Fendi makes a statement immediately, you can
easily get away with a more artistic design if it
is not branded. Many people also think that the
big monograms are not so elegant. If you have the
patience, you can also visit stores like TJ Max or
Marshall’s for

Jeans. Preferably in a dark
color. They have to fit you perfectly and must have a
great cut.

Jacket. You will need it to go to a more
formal meeting. A classic style is better in a neutral
color. Great fit is essential in this case too.
Business suit. It is something you need for
certain types of jobs. A
good quality suit is essential to
go to formal meetings and job interviews. So check out how
your colleagues are dressing and then get a business suit
accordingly. If you are going for a
job interview or
visiting a client/customer or going for a meeting and not
knowing what to expect, it is better to over-dress than to
under dress.
Fun dresses and skirts. For less formal
occasions and
fun weekends, you must have a good selection. This is
also an area where you can make your own rules and really
show your personality.
Fun shoes.
Heels, loafers and sandals – you
must have them all in your shoe closet and pick them
according to the rest of the outfit and how much you will
walk. Again

Underwear. While you may assume that since
no one will see it, it is OK to not wear the highest

and quality, but if you want to buy the really good stuff,
think La
Perla or Wacoal.
