Bethany
writes, "My
boyfriend's parents don't agree with him and I being
together. I am 16 years older than him as well. His
mom was a friend of mine. He went to prison and when he
came home he
became a good man. And now he loves me. I love him
too. Help me please. Just want to get some advice on
how to
deal with his parents."
In my
opinion
convincing his parents is truly his job and not
yours. He is much closer to them and it is easier for
him to start the
communication with them rather than you trying it.
So let him take the lead and then follow his guidance.
Of course, by being polite and genuine you can
demonstrate to them that you do love him and
want to have a good relationship.
Of
course, the final step will be to
have a
relationship without their support and approval, and
then hope that one day they will realize their stupidity
in making it hard for a
couple in love to
celebrate
their love and then grant their blessings.
