I heard from men too, lots of them actually –
young men who had never been in love and had only read romantic books, men who had fallen in and out of love over the years but had not given up on finding the dream girl, and like women, men who were stuck in hopeless marriages with women they loved at some point but did not any more.
Well, I was touched by the number of emails I got from my admirers. Those who had a chance to read about me and took the pain to appreciate me as a person wrote long, beautiful messages sharing stories of their lives. Of course, there were some vulgar messages from men who do not understand what is the best way to approach a woman – all they wanted was to get me into bed, immediately. I read them all and responded to those that I though deserved a response. |
 Many of these people continued to write to me even if they did not get a response for me, recognizing that I would not have the time to respond. They consistently mentioned that they were impressed by my honesty and were impressed by my ambition. They just wanted to write to share what was bothering them for years but just did not know if anyone else felt the same way. So they just kept it to themselves but when they found about me, they wrote, because they were convinced that I would understand, even if I would not respond to them.
Almost all of these people expressed no wish to see my pictures or meet me in person – they knew it was going to be difficult, but they were just happy to connect with someone who was like them.
I was in paradise – because, I was not alone any more. I realized a very important truth of my life – I no longer had to look for intellectual, emotional, and physical gratification from one person. The world is not set up this way. Thus, began an adventure in discovering a different meaning of life and love.
