For the opening day festivities, a band played live music. I did not see anyone dancing -- people were too excited to start shopping -- but the band sure made it look like the party was about to start.

The mall has a unique system installed that was used for confetti on inauguration day. During the holiday season, shoppers are often surprised when the same system is used to create artificial snow.

Nordstrom organized a tailgate party for women so that they could try on, and of course buy, their huge collection of makeup and fragrance.

Well before the official opening of the Nordstrom doors, women were lined up. As the shutter opened, while some women took pictures of the special moment, others rushed in to start shopping.

What amazed me was the number of women who showed up for the inauguration of the Natick Collection mall. These ladies were of all age groups and looked happy to be there. There was only a tiny group of men. Maybe because it was a working day.
