How to take a green shower?

In the United States we take it for granted, but a shower is a luxury in many parts of the world. While I traveled in India, I needed to use buckets on a few occasions. While not as nice as showers, it was not a big inconvenience and I was surprised by how little water I used to clean myself. Of course, we are not going to give up our showers to save water, but it is easy to save some water:
- You can take shorter showers.
- Leave the bathtub only as a treat. When using it use the finest personal care products you can afford , take your time. Make it count as a treat.
- This one is easy: get a low-flow showerhead. This is estimated to cut water consumption by 50%. Almost all brands now have them but try to check out the ones from Bricor or Delta or Oxygenics.
- Finally, shut off the water when you are soaping yourself or applying shampoo. Run the water only when you are actually rinsing yourself.
