While nail art has not quit become popular in the USA in Japan and in other Asian countries is in full bloom.  Although a bit impractical many Asian women wear very complex designs that deserve to be called “art.”

Besides the true works of art made by professionals nail technicians or nail artists, many women create nice designs in their own nails.  Many of the popular magazines routinely show designs and detailed instructions to recreate the designs.  Some of them are complex others are very simple.

Some of my Japanese friends are really good painting their own nails and creating designs.  I have learned a little from them, but I find that creative nail painting is enough. I do not want any ornaments hanging out of my fingers, which I use very often.  I also have issues with the materials used, because they may be unhealthy and even toxic.

The video in this post is of the largest professional nail show in the world, which takes place in Tokyo, this video is from a few months back.  Some of the pictures shown, belong to a very creative Japanese blogger (chanblog), who enjoys creating designs on her nails according to the occasion and her mood, she is not a professional. The other pictures show professional designs and one of the magazines devoted to nail art.
