Our perception of flavor is very cultural and personal. Japan for example has many flavors that are just weird for the rest of us. Do not think that that I am talking about green tea ice cream.  These are some of the enticing flavors that you may like to try:

Shrimp ice cream.  Yam..
Wasabi ice cream
Crab ice cream
Eel ice cream
Sweet potato ice cream (it is not bad)
Miso ice cream (yes like the soup, I have not try it)
Soy sauce ice cream

And the list goes on.  I am afraid of trying the really weird flavors, but local flavors such as rice in many presentations, mochi (made from rice), green tea etc. are OK.  I still prefer Ben & Jerry’s, but there are many other options around.

There is even a blog about japanese ice cream can you believe it Japanese ice cream blog
