Frida restaurant review

It is indeed true that Mexican cuisine is one of my favorites but after dining at Katsuya in Glendale and getting a chance to check out Frida, a few days later we went there for lunch.  First, the decor as you will see below.  High ceilings, plenty of natural light, and lots of art.

Pic of Freda Mexico food at Americana at Brand mallThe menu is very extensive with authentic dishes from Mexico (rather than food modified to please the Gringos).  We chose Pechuga Xi-Xe (sounds Chinese but it is very Mexican and apparently a fancy way of saying chicken with poblano chile sauce) and it is served with rice and beans as shown below.

pechugaa chicken in freedaThe other dish we ate was Pechuga Fogata which is grilled chicken and sauces like achiote and chile guajillo and topped off with chimichurri.  These sauces are rich but very flavorful.
