Mumbai Chopstix review

Even though Lorena had a bad meal at this Boston’s Newbury Street restaurant, she dragged me to it to show me the interesting decor.  I have to confess that the interior is definitely unique but the food is a disappointment.  Like anyone else, despite my extreme caution about what I put into my mouth, I do not mind Chinese food from time to time, even though it is almost always greasy.

I ordered lo-mein noodles and they had just 10% or so vegetables.  After consuming noodles while living in Japan and during my visits to other East Asian countries and restaurants, my understanding is that any noodle dish should have just 50% noodles.  So if you are on a low-carb diet, this dish is a disaster.  Lorena ordered Buddha’s delight and it tasted awful.  I think we have all picked up much better food at Chinese takeouts at one third the price.

So if you are looking for East Asian food in the area, I recommend Mentei at 66 Hereford Street (between Boylston and Newbury) or any of the Wagamama or PF Chang locations in the area.

Definitely not recommended.  I also could not figure out why does it have the word Mumbai, which is a city in India, really far from China.  In other words, if the restaurant couldn’t get its coordinates right, how could it get its food right.
