The Spy Who Loved Me movie review

Picture of Rojer Moare and Barb Bachh

After From Russia With Love, this is my second James Bond movie.  Hopefully, I can watch all the 007 films some day, because not only do I enjoy spy movies, I also like to see all the cool gadgets that Bond uses.  In fact, even 30 years ago, the creative use of technology in Bond movies is amazing (enjoy the video clip below of a car that converts to a submarine).

Karl Stromberg (Curd Jürgens) is the 70s version of Osama Bin Laden.  He wants to destroy New York and Moscow hoping to trigger a world war so that he can establish a new world order, under water, because he is a shipping tycoon and lives in a high-tech hideout Atlantis.  James Bond (Roger Moore) and Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach), a Soviet KGB agent (yes, in this film the two intelligence agencies agree to work together to eliminate a common enemy) track down Stromberg through a mission complete with all the Bond tricks.  Highly entertaining and strongly recommended for all Bond fans.

Actually, I am in love with Barbara Bach. She is a bombshell and this film wouldn’t be the same without her beautiful presence. What I also liked that unlike other Bond films in which girls are mere adornments, she is a great agent herself and that makes her even sexier to me.
