Andrea
writes, "One of the buzzwords out there is today is to
plan for our future. There are just so many
self-help gurus touting the wonders of
planning our lives and looks like I am at the
crossroad of planning for my next 5 years. But what?
I am a
successful attorney with a
loving family,
financially solid, and
more or less happy, but when it comes to
thinking
about the future, I have no clue what to plan.
Please help."
Live life NOW, not in the future
I
know a lot of people are too hung up on this whole
life planning thing; I am not. I want to
live in the present and enjoy each moment. Of
course, I am
saving
money,
watching my health,
learning new skills, and trying to make things
better for me and my family, but I am not bogged down
with that question. If someone asks me where do I see
myself in 5 years, I simply don't know the answer and
I don't care that I don't know. I also don't
care what you think of me because I don't have a
personal five year plan.
Most
likely, I will be
happier,
in great health, and
enjoying every moment of doing something that I love.
I will not judge myself years from now in terms of
money in the bank or promotions or whether I am a
hero in
my peer group. |
