Avandia causes liver failure deaths

Avandia pillDespite numerous complaints about Avandia being a dangerous drug, nothing much has happened. Public Citizen has filed another petition asking the FDA to ban the deadly drug.

Only if GlaxoSmithKline would care. "We do not believe there is a connection between liver toxicity and this medicine," the company said.

A review of FDA data shows as many 14 cases of severe drug-induced liver failure, including 12 deaths. The drug is already known to cause heart failure, fractures and vision loss.
