How to succeed as a model?
Beauty, fitness, makeup, and commitment are needed

Recently we sat down with our model Caroline Marie Leng whose stage name is Exotika. She is petite, 5 foot tall, and weighs a mere 100 lbs. She is originally from California, but currently resides in Maryland. She is a part-time college student taking general studies, and also pursuing acting and modeling. She is also a sales associate at a men's retail shop where she is often surrounded by customers who end up becoming her admirers. Her ambition is be on the big screen as an actress or a TV news anchor.
Right now, she has short light brown hair with caramel blonde steaks to complement her light golden tan. Her best feature, of course, is her butt. People tell her that she has a round tight butt like Jennifer Lopez (Jennifer Lopez fitness).  She used to have long black hair like most Asian girls, but she didn't want to be like everyone; so she set herself apart to make her own statement. In high school, Caroline was voted as "The Most Unique." She has been through many hair colors from burgundy to golden blonde. It wasn't that she was trying to be Caucasian; it was something to do to draw attention.

Picture of Caroline Leng a Japanese American model based in MarylandCaroline’s mother, who is Japanese too, is the ‘woman behind the model.’  She does her hair colors, give her makeup tips, and takes her photographs. When most Asian parents are so strict with hair color, her mother actually helped her change it. Her mother started dying her hair when the new fashion first came to Japan and that was a long time ago.

MYNIPPON: You appear to have a very interesting background and we understand that you are currently working on a few exciting assignments. Could you please share with our members more details about your background and how you became a model?

Caroline: I consider myself an Asian American. My ethnic origin is Japanese, Cuban-American, and Taiwanese. My mom is Japanese and my dad is half Asian so I got everything all mixed into me. People tend to say I look anywhere from Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Latina, African American, Hawaiian, to Filipino. I have a lot of exciting assignments coming along the way for me. How did I get into modeling? When I was 15 years old on vacation with my parents in Orlando and this local commercial was being shot for a toy sample. I was just standing there and the cameraperson approached me and asked me if I wanted to be in the commercial. So that's how my passion into modeling and acting began.  (Related:

MYNIPPON: We realize that you have been modeling now for a few years and have been successful in featuring in many publications. How did you achieve your success?

Caroline: Last summer, I did a Sony online print ad for the retail consolidation network. I had fun doing it. I have done assignments from modeling contests, photo modeling, promotional acting, runway, and being a movie extra. I am a movie extra in the Disney movie “Ladder 49," starring John Travolta. It was a long 14 hours being an extra in 80 degrees temperatures in Maryland, wearing my winter clothes for a scene in the movie.  But I always give my best to my job.  (Related article:  Tips to pose for pictures like a model)

MYNIPPON: What are your future plans? Where else can people hope to see you? Do you sometimes appear at fashion shows or other public events so that if someone wanted to say hello, they could find you?

Caroline: My future plan is to finish up college and get my degree in journalism. I like to write in general. I had couple of my articles published in newspapers, e.g., The Maryland Independent andcaroline leng, model, mini skirt, sandals, print blouse, blonde, asian, import model the college newspaper The Hawkeye. Also I had many of my poems published. So I would say college has to come first. However, if I had a big break into acting or modeling, then I would take it.

MYNIPPON: As is very clear to all of us, you are extremely beautiful and have a body to be proud of. We are sure our female readers would like to hear from you the secrets (
Model beauty secrets) of how you are able to maintain yourself?

Caroline: I do have a body to be proud of. I may be short, but I'm usually told that I'm thick and I think I get that from my dad's side. I'm not fat, just big boned. At my work, the Hispanic guys always call me Jennifer Lopez for my biggest asset and my resemblance to someone who is known for that. My secret is eating less junk food and sticking to good old steamed rice. That works for me. I have to eat rice with every meal. My favorite food, of course, is Japanese.  I love Japanese food because it's not greasy.  So all those girls out there who want to maintain a good body, they must seriously look at Japanese cuisine and pick some of the dishes.

MYNIPPON: You also have a proportionate body and a bust to be proud of. A lot of Japanese and other Asian women are very concerned about their proportions and especially small bust size. What would you advise them?

Caroline: I like the way that my body is built. I am a 34B and proud of it. The only thing I want to work on is toning up my body. I need to start exercising now or it will catch up to me.

MYNIPPON: Do you have any other tips for our female members about fashion and style?

Caroline: Fashion and style are only what you consider what's in. Don't depend on a magazine to tell you what's in and what's out. Be your own person.
