Curry Leaf Indian Restaurant in Natick sucks
I went there today to have lunch. They have a slightly expensive buffet ($11), but I was fine with it considering that they make fresh nan bread for you and you can even order a South Indian dish called dosa. I am an average tipper and I generally pay 10% for buffet, 15% for regular meals, and 20% or more for exceptional service.
When I signed the check, the waiter actually came back to me and said that if I had any problem with the service. I gave a polite response that everything was excellent. Then he said that in order to motivate I should tip their recommended 18% (he pointed my attention to the calculation on the check). I immediately changed my tip to a little more than 18%.
I am never going back there. First, it is not a waiter's right to be tipped or to be tipped a certain amount - it is a privilege. The customer is the only one to decide if and how much to tip. I cannot imagine anyone not tipping (I have tipped even when the service was horrible simply because you want to be civil) but I have never had anyone begging for a tip either.
My recommendation: Avoid Curry Leaf Indian Restaurant in Natick, MA>
