Anti depressants raise fracture risk

McGill University in Canada has made some remarkable discovery on the dangerous side effects of antidepressants, also known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). If you are over 50, your risk of low-trauma bone fractures is 2X if you take these drugs, that include Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, Celexa and Lexapro.

These are not the only dangers of these drugs. Previously these drugs have been linked to suicidal behavior and class action lawsuits against Prozac have already been filed.

Devon Cameron creates Stella art

Photo of Stella art created by Devon CameronWhat you see on your left is Stella - a design fashioned from seven different types of hard-shelled gourds and embellished with dried leaves and flowers. Each is handmade by Devon Cameron (with some help from Mother Nature) in her Sugar Loaf, New York studio. And each projects a style and "cattitude" that will bring a smile and place her high on any collector's list.

These whimsical, museum-quality works are large as life measuring 20 to 26 inches from their gourd-bud noses to their curled tails. Fiercely independent, meticulously clean, and eager to delight, these ladies never unsheathe their pine-cone claws or trigger an allergy. All natural, quintessentially feminine, and sassy to their seedy core, these cats are a must have.

These hanging ornaments take the form of cat, dog, cow, pig, snowman, rooster, turtle, penguin, and frog.

Real women are not skinny

Photo of a plus size modelWhile two out of three Americans are fat and desperately trying to lose weight, we have a totally strange problem in Hollywood. Actors and models are too skinny. Actually so skinny that meet the medical definition of an eating disorder. There has been some effort by fashion show organizers to set guidelines for - you heard it right - minimum weight.

A response to this drama in Hollywood is emergence of Skinny Models Off The Runway (SMOTR), founded by George Namho. This organization will enable women all over the world a voice and vehicle by which to demand the portrayal of real-life size images of real-life size women…a fusion of beauty and health. It is important to note that the media often plays tricks that make models look skinnier and prettier than they really are. Watch this video that shows how they make models look so good.

Beautiful animal print headband for cool women

Photo of a leopard print silk handbagI don't know about you but there is an animal hiding somewhere inside me. Most often it comes out in the bedroom when I am with a stud, but I love anything animal print. I think it is a subtle way to send a message about my naughtiness, along with my obvious tattoos and makeup.

That is why I recommend this Animal Print Scarf Headband (52" Long - 20" Drop). Jennifer Orlando, the boutique owner highlights the fact that almost all Hollywood celebrities, particularly Nicole Richie and Desperate Housewives ladies, have been sporting heandbands. When you want that retro look for the hair, this is what you want. Of course, you can always match them with a handbag and jewelry. And don't be scared of the price. Here is a hint: if you don't know how to count beyond 10, you are OK.

Heart shaped necklace to wear on a date

Photo of a charm necklace with a heartI like to have a large collection of accessories, particularly jewelry. Yeah, yeah, I know, those of you out there who think that it is better to have a few excellent pieces (preferably diamonds - where's the man who is gonna buy it for me) than to have too many. But you know what, when people look at you, they can never figure out if your jewelry cost a $100 or $10. And that is why when I have too many, I can mix and match and also coordinate them with my outfit and other accessories.

So when you are going on a date and want to send a subtle message to him, try this romantic heart shape locket necklace with charms. It is 30" long with a 5" drop and the heart has a magnetic closure. If you were wondering, how much it costs: 10 bucks. No $9.99 BS. Jennifer Orlando keeps it simple at her boutique.

Designer handbag look alike at affordable price

Photo of a striped tote bagA woman can never have enough handbags. So no wonder I like this beautiful multi-color striped bucket tote handbag, which looks like a designer handbag, but trust me, you can buy it for just $28 (exact prices may vary) at Glitz & Glamour Boutique.

It has bronze leather like trim accented with colorful stripes. As you can see it has double handles with 9.5" drop and has a zip top opening. The interior is lined with side zipper pocket and there is also a cell phone pouch. There is another zipper pocket outside. It is strong and sturdy but still looks elegant.

And now if you ask me how should you coordinate this with your outfit? I would say, try matching it with a white shirt and slimming jeans.
