Did Jennifer Lopez have IVF for her twins?
Whenever a Hollywood celebrity gets pregnant in her advanced age the speculation is always rife that she may have had assisted reproductive therapy (ART) like IUI, IVF, donor eggs, or in case that she simply cannot get pregnant on her own, use of a surrogate mother. That is why when Jennifer Lopez became pregnant with twins Max and Emme (multiple births are more common when in vitro fertilization is used), a lot of people suspected that fertility treatments were used. J Lo is now denying that. She says that when it comes to family and relationships, she is quite traditional. She implies that trying to get pregnant artificially may be against the wishes of God, because if you cannot get pregnant naturally, then, maybe God did not want you to be a mother.
She says, "...I also believe in God and I have a lot of faith in that, so I just felt like you don't mess with things like that. And I guess deep down I really felt like either this is not going to happen for me or it is. And if it is, it will. And if it's not, it's not going to."
Since the ethics of fertility treatments are still evolving, a lot of parents still struggle to make peace with procedures like donor eggs, surrogate mothers, and IVF in which many embryos are often destroyed.
