Sarah Palin asks God for intervention in election

Earlier I reported how Senator John McCain is begging Jesus Christ for help in winning the elections as it is certain that he is headed for an embarrassing defeat.

Running mate and seemingly more religious Sarah Palin is also asking God to intervene in the election by destroying the voting machines in Florida so that the election can be stolen by the GOP.

She told Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family,” an extremist Christian group that prayed for rain during Obama's acceptance speech, that she is confident God will do “the right thing for America” on election day.

“It is that intercession that is so needed,” she said. “And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it.”

Clay Aiken gay dad

Photo of Clay Aikan with his sonAfter Ricky Martin became dad with the help of a surrogate mom, yet another gay celebrity Clay Aiken has also become a dad. Yes, he also used a surrogate, but unlike in typical cases like this one, when you have to pay the surrogate mother, his platonic friend Jaymes Foster decided to carry the child for him and she became pregnant through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The two will also raise the child together and the son's name will reflect both parents and is being called Parker Foster Aiken.

By the way, he is one of those Evangelical Christians and plans on following his faith despite strong hatred for gays among Born Again Christians and strong opposition to their becoming parents or adopting children, despite overwhelming data that they are excellent parents.

IUI, IVF for lesbians

The sad reality is that despite all the small advances made by gays and lesbians, they are openly discriminated in all walks of life. Homophobia is actually on the rise, largely driven by Republican politics and hatred created by many Christian groups.

The case of Guadalupe "Lupita" Benítez highlights how the name of Jesus Christ can be used by so-called Christians to find an excuse to discriminate. That is exactly what these so-called doctors Christine Brody and Douglas Fenton were doing. They belong to the same category of Christians who supposedly value life but strongly support death penalty. Similarly, they want to protect the institution of marriage but are fighting strongly against gay marriage laws.

The decision by California Supreme Court means that hopefully doctors will stop telling you why you cannot be a mom and do what their job is, that is, to dispense medicine. I wouldn't be surprised if something did not go right because the pharmacists already have the right to deny you your legally prescribed medication because their so-called God tells them not to.

While the last thing on a couple's mind when they are trying to become parents (particularly after 40 when each day matters) is a lawsuit but if you have to do it, it is worth it. Lupita's fight paid off. She is now a happy mom.

Evangelical pastor Christopher Beard is gay

These are difficult times for Evangelical Christians. The more homophobic they become the more they find out that the church has acted like a magnet for homosexuals. It all started with their leader Ted Haggard admitting to be not only a gay but hanging out with prostitutes. The latest reports say that he is undergoing degayfication.

Another bomb was dropped with Mary Cheney's pregnancy and the praise it received from both grandparents Dick and Lynne Cheney and president Bush.

Then yet another pastor Paul Barnes quit admitting to be a closet gay.

The sad news keeps coming. A colleague of Ted Haggard, pastor Christopher Beard, has also admitted to being gay though he did not have sex with Ted Haggard. I think that both of them can do that in hell.

Evangelical pastor Paul Barnes is gay

Our wonderful friend Ted Haggard will no longer be lonely in hell. He will be given company by Paul Barnes, founding pastor of the Grace Chapel in a Denver suburb. Without much drama, Pastor Barnes stepped down after admitting that he was gay.

Yet another sad day for homophobe evangelical Christians who were disappointed only recently by Governor Mitt Romney who did not live up to the high standards of homophobia and then by Mary Cheney who decided to get pregnant.

Democratic evangelical is no longer an oxymoron

Earlier, I used to think that "gay Republican" was an oxymoron - but I changed my opinion once Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, and so many others proved me wrong.

And today I am changing my opinion again - "Democratic evangelical" is also not an oxymoron either. As many as one out of three evangelican christians have voted for the Democrats.

Sweet!

Phill Kline loses to Paul Morrison in Kansas

Some victories are sweeter than others and one of the many that I enjoyed was the victory of Paul Morrison over Phill Kline. I think Kline went way over the top in his actions (particularly over abortion) and was clearly out of touch with what people of Kansas.

It is clear that some politicians forget that Americans are not as conservative as they would like them to be - just look at the pathetic support for abstinence-only sex education. It seems that only a few hard-right Christians like the idea.

Bye Ted (Haggard)

As reported earlier, Ted Haggard has indirectly confessed his homosexuality by stepping aside. Over dinner I was wondering how you could leave this double life.

So you came home every night feeling good about fooling these millions of (should I say idiotic?) evangelicals who seem to live in a fantasy world in which gays don't exist. And you feel, wow, I must be really smart because I can have it all - a stud called Mike Jones, all the drugs that I want, and then have all these idiots literally hanging on to every word that I say. Some even went on the Jerusalem diet that he recommended.

A pastor who is so full of lies and hypocrisy is worse than a gay pastor. Christians, wake up!
