How to add a memory card to your digital camera?
If you have a HP Photosmart E317 digital camera and you are trying to add a SanDisk SD memory card (1 GB), then do not follow the instructions on HP website - they are wrong. You will see the picture below and if you try to insert it like this, it will never go in; unless of course, you push it too hard - in which case, you will damage everything.
If you put the camera in the position shown, then flip the card so that pins face opposite you. It will slide right in and you will be able to then format the card without any problem. Just to make sure what card I used, the picture is below:
